Customer Profile:

Savage & Whitten (t/a S&W Wholesale) is an independent wholesaler based in Newry, Co. Down, and is one of the largest independent wholesalers in Northern Ireland. As a member of the TODAYS Group, S&W Wholesale offer a range of over 6,500 product lines covering confectionery, soft drinks, grocery, non-food grocery, chilled, fresh & frozen. S&W also have an extensive range of additional products via their Central Billing partners to include all departments within the local convenience store market.

Business Challenge:

S&W approached Celtrino with three key challenges.
The first challenge was agility. Optimising their own EDI solution required real-time engagement with their provider’s on-demand support team. Previously the significant delays in engagement had affected business improvements in S&W.
The second challenge was capability. With an imminent upgrade in their ERP system to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central with Sysco Software, S&W required that any new EDI Provider could not only switch over and then support the upgrade but also provide the ongoing service they expected.
The final challenge was financial. A review of overall EDI operations had determined that the previous EDI service was exorbitantly priced so any new EDI service was to be reasonably priced.

Solution:

After a thorough search of the EDI provider marketplace, S&W Wholesale
chose Celtrino as their new EDI partner. Their reasons were based on the following:
(1) Celtrino had the experience of providing similar moderately priced EDI solutions to wholesale and buying groups throughout the UK and Ireland for over 30 years.
(2) Celtrino could support both Tradacoms and EDIFACT EDI formats; messages, Orders, Invoices, Credit Notes; communication protocols AS2/AS4/SFTP and do all this bilaterally
(as S&W Wholesale are both a buyer and a supplier).
(3) Celtrino could migrate all current S&W trading partners and offer superior responsive
support and backup as and when needed.

For S&W Operations and IT teams, the ease of speaking directly with a support engineer to resolve complex issues faster as opposed to receiving a ticket and waiitng in a slow support queue. As well as providing EDI support for all S&W’s trading partner relationships, Celtrino were able to assist S&W’s ERP partner Sysco Systems in integrating their new Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central ERP System.
