On Thursday March 12th Celtrino sponsored and exhibited at Procurex Ireland 2020, at the RDS Dublin.
The annual Procurex conference is Ireland’s leading public sector procurement event. On the day there was a range of tutorials and speaker sessions available to attendees, as well as regular networking opportunities.
The event provided Celtrino with a unique platform to discuss our digital transformation solutions with public sector representatives; with a particular focus on EU Directive 2014/55/EU. As per the Directive, public sector bodies are mandated to be capable of receiving and processing invoices in electronic format from their suppliers. In Ireland, the deadline for complying with the Directive was April 2019 for central government agencies, while sub-central government agencies have until 18th April 2020 to be compliant.
Celtrino are the exclusive e-invoicing provider to Irish central government agencies and the first-ranked provider to sub-central government agencies to provide them with electronic invoicing capabilities.
If you are a sub-central government agency and still are not compliant with the Directive, there is still sufficient time before the deadline of April 18th. This blog outlines the steps you need to take to achieve legal compliance.
The main sub-central government agencies consist of the following:
- – Hospitals
- – Schools, universities, institutions of technology and other colleges
- – Health and education department agencies
- – Section 38 and section 39 agencies
- – Semi-state bodies
The Directive is one of many aspects that contribute towards the overall national government strategy for the Irish public sector to fully embrace digital transformation. A transformation which in turn will lead to the more efficient delivery of public services nationwide.
