Peppol Billing

Peppol Billing

Since the 17th of April 2019 it has been a requirement for public bodies in Europe to receive and process invoices in a standard format electronically.

The ‘Peppol’ approach is a preferred option for e-invoicing in Europe.

While it is not a requirement for suppliers to send invoices electronically to public bodies, it makes sense to implement e-invoicing in line with the directive, as it helps to save postage and printing costs, ensures more data accuracy, increases the prospect of being paid on time, and provides more accountability and traceability on all invoices exchanged.

The Peppol BIS Billing 3.0 is a Core Invoice Usage Specification (CIUS) of the European standard for e-invoicing, and as such is a tool public bodies can use to meet their legal obligation. Celtrino have implemented support for Peppol BIS Billing 3.0 in our software.

Celtrino are a certified access point connected to the Peppol e-Delivery Network. There are more than 200,000 public and private sector end users able to receive Peppol BIS Billing 3.0 invoices.
